Optris MS Handheld IR Temperature Sensor
The basic MS is our entry-level handheld infrared thermometer and gives the user simple operation. A fixed emissivity of 0.95 is suitable for a wide choice of non-metallic and non-reflective everyday materials.
Just aim at the object, press the trigger and the infrared thermometers will show the temperature in an instant. Functions like MAX and MIN temperature results are shown in the display right away.
The MS temperature sensor is very compact in size and lightweight making them suitable for storing in the toolbox so that it is always available for use.
The Optris MS infrared thermometer provides exact measurements of objects as small as 13mm at distances less than 140mm, and features a laser sight with a narrow beam for precise non-contact temperature readings.
The Optris MS has a -32°C to 420°C temperature range and 20:1 optical resolution. The MS thermometer includes the standard specifications for all MS infrared thermometers; 300ms response time, 8 – 14μm spectral range, USB interface, and min, max, and hold functions.

Optris MS Additional Information & Software
The Optris MS series of thermometers can now be operated via the new IRmobile App (Android). The App allows you to monitor and analyse infrared temperature measurements on a smartphone or tablet.
The MS thermometer is also supplied with the new free Optris PIX Connect software, which has the same features as the former PI Connect, along with some new which make integration with your system extremely simple. The easy-to-use software is license-free and included in every pyrometer shipment.
Temperature sensor calibration and a range of accessories for your infrared thermometer are also available to buy, such as mounting jackets or interchangeable lenses.

Areas of Application for the Optris MS series
The Optris MS portable infrared pyrometer can be used for non-contact temperature control and surveillance of non-metallic surfaces. The MS series is especially popular in air-conditioning industries, e.g. for the surveillance of heating, venting, and air conditioning systems.
In mechanical maintenance, e.g. of engines, drivetrains, valves, kilns and steam distribution systems, the laser thermometers easily and reliably detect any weak spot. In preventive electrical maintenance, moreover, fuses, contacts, or switchboards can be checked preventively.
The hand held thermometers of the Optris MS series are also popular in car service stations for diagnoses of automobiles, where they locate problems with ignition systems, air conditioning or cooling systems and help solve them immediately.
What is a Hand Held Thermometer?
A hand-held thermometer is a small device used to measure temperature. It is designed to be held in your hand and has a sensor on one end that detects heat. You can use it by placing it on the object or person you want to measure the temperature of.
