Low cost entry level high performance thermal imager
The Optris PI160 is our entry level thermal imaging camera and gives a great starting point for thermal imaging in your application. It would be wrong to assume however that the PI160 is simple, basic or lacking in features.
The camera, as with others in the Optris PI range, is used via the USB port on your computer. It has no built in memory and therefore you are only limited by the size of your hard drive as to how much data you can record.
The PI160 thermal imager has a stunning recording rate of up to 120 frames per second in video mode making it ideal for the fastest of applications. Playback rate can be reduced so that very fast applications can easily be visualised on the screen.
A new leasing scheme is now available for the full range of Optris thermal imaging cameras. To avoid an upfront capital outlay just spread the cost with monthly or quarterly payments over two or three years.
The video below shows in fantastic detail a drop into a hot cup of coffee, clearly demonstrating the response time and flexibility of the PI160.
As standard the camera is supplied with all the items you need to get started including cables, manuals, protection carry case, mini tripod and PI Connect software. Updates to the software are also freely available and as it has no licensing control you can install it on as many computers as you wish.
We offer lenses for close, standard and long distances. Use the Optris Optics Calculator to help chose the right lens for your Optris PI160 camera based on the distance you wish to measure from, and the associated measurement field sizes:
HFOV (Horizontal Field of View) : Horizontal dimension of the total measuring field at object level.
VFOV (Vertical Field of View) : Vertical dimension of the total measuring field at object level.
DFOV (Diagonal Field of View) : Diagonal dimension of the total measuring field at object level.
IFOV (Instantaneous Field of View) : Dimensional size of a single pixel at object level
MFOV (Measured Field of View) : Smallest measured object size based on a 3×3 pixel arrangement.
