Infrared Temperature Sensor and Optical Pyrometer – Process Parameters is the official UK distributor for Optris

There are many applications where Non-Contact infrared pyrometers have advantages over contact probes such as thermocouples. Some of these advantages are:

Our range of Optris IR pyrometer and digital pyrometer is arranged into three distinct areas…

  • Low cost, highly reliable German-made optical pyrometer suitable for most processes and OEM applications.
  • High ambient sensing head temperature without additional cooling as standard – up to 250°C.
  • Different models designed for specific applications such as plastic films, glass and metals. No more compromising with “general purpose” sensors.
  • Wide temperature measurement range to cover everything from frozen food to molten metals.
  • Industry standard outputs including mA, Voltage and Thermocouple.
  • Optional interfaces to provide easy integration with your application including Profibus, Ethernet, USB and RS485.
  • Version available for use in potentially hazardous areas.
  • Unique dual laser aiming system ensures the perfect aim every time. Shows the user both location and size of measuring spot on the object.
  • Wide range of accessories to make integration with your process as simple as possible.
  • Optional interfaces provide easy integration with existing control systems.
  • Special version for specific applications including flame temperatures, through flame measurement, glass and metals.
  • Low-cost temperature pyrometer for general purpose applications.
  • High optical resolution pyrometer temperature sensor for an application that demands higher accuracy and control.
  • Designs for use on high-temperature applications, including molten metals. Ideal for use when wearing gloves.
  • Innovative laser aiming and where necessary aiming scopes ensure the greatest measurement accuracy.

Optris CSmicro 2W LT / LTH Miniature Infrared Temperature Sensor
Hi Temp infrared pyrometers available for measuring temperature measurement of metals and other high temperature materials.

The CSmicro series of the infrared pyrometer is an evolution of the CS, with a miniature sensing head which is one of the smallest in the world measuring just 14mm OD x 28mm long. The electronics are housed securely in a housing mounted onto the extension cable measuring just 35mm x 12mm which also has an LED useful for giving information about the sensor during use.

With the CSmicro we can offer a wider measuring range of up to 1600°C and also a higher ambient operating temperature for the sensing head of up to 180°C without additional cooling. Combined with high-quality optics giving small spot sizes, the CSmicro is an extremely versatile group of sensors, and are easily configurable using the optional USB interface and Compact Connect software.

The Optris CT LT is an excellent general purpose miniaturised digital pyrometers with programmable electronic box.

The Optris CT LT is an excellent general purpose miniaturised digital pyrometer with programmable electronic box. The IR sensing head is suitable for use at ambient temperatures of up to 180°C without cooling and with a choice of optical resolutions, there is certain to be a version within the range to suit your application.

The temperature pyrometer has the smallest sensing head available in the world at just 14mm diameter x 28mm long and allows the sensor to be installed in the applications where space is at a premium. The separate electronics enclosure provides a full range of configurable outputs as standard including Voltage, mA and Thermocouple. It is also possible to incorporate an interface card which provides simple integration into your existing process control equipment. Options include Ethernet, Profibus, RS485 and USB interface and Compact Connect Software download. The CT LT is available from stock so we can supply your sensor quickly too!

This high temperature pyrometer offers a wider measuring range of up to 1600°C. The sensing head is rated to up to 180 deg c.

Measuring the temperature of high temperature and molten metals is one of the most demanding applications for and sensor technology. The Optris range of 1m and 2m high-temperature pyrometers has however been designed to overcome the pitfalls often encountered.

Short wavelength sensors ensure that low emissivity materials are handled more easily, providing more accurate measurements that are less dependent on correct or variable emissivity.

High quality, high-resolution optics provide small measuring spots even at larger distances. This allows precise measurement whilst the pyrometer sensor is protected from the arduous conditions within the process.

Unique dual laser aiming system of our high-performance series permits very quick setup and displays on the object the exact location and size of the measuring spot. If this is not enough then our Video Pyrometers provide you with through the lens video aiming to give the most precise setup ever. This high temperature pyrometer offers a wider measuring range of up to 1600°C. The sensing head is rated to up to 180 deg c.

Finally, a broad range of standard and optional process outputs and interfaces allow our sensors to be integrated with almost all existing process control equipment.

New low cost infrared thermal imaging camera is available from stock and is suitable for high temperatures.

The newly developed optris Xi 80 combines the benefits of infrared cameras and infrared pyrometers.

New low cost infrared thermal imaging camera is available from stock and is suitable for high temperatures.A full 80×80 thermal image eliminates the hunt for the hot spot and tedious positioning required with single spot temperature sensors. The integrated spot finder function will identify the hottest (or coldest) spot in the image and automatically communicate these measurements without an external PC.

A wide range of optics including the new 80° lens equips the Xi 80 to collect and analyze temperature information over a wide target area. The affordable pricing for this unit makes it a realistic alternative to replace existing spot temperature sensors or for OEM applications.
