Platinum Resistance Thermometer with Process Connection, Cooling Neck & Terminal Head
The threaded RTD temperature sensor features a probe with a process thread and extension below the terminal head. It has a fixed male process thread with a lagging extension/cooling neck. The Pt100 sensor can be easily screwed into a process or thermowell.
The terminal head is positioned above insulation, protecting the electronics from high temperatures. Calibration options include UKAS or traceable calibration. The sensor type is a platinum resistance thermometer, available in Pt100 or Pt1000 variants.
The Pt100 temperature sensor is supplied as a 3 wire Pt100 temperature sensor with Class B tolerance. The probe is 6mm diameter and the length selectable below a 1/2″BSP male process connection thread. An IP68 KNE aluminium alloy terminal and ceramic terminal or in head 4-20mA output transmitter are then fitted. Operating temperature range is -75 to +250°C.
Alternatively it can be specified as a cooling neck to provide protection to any electronics inside the terminal housing when used in applications with elevated temperatures.
The threaded RTD probe is suitable for the measurement of liquids and gases across a wide temperature range. All wetted parts of the probe are made from 316 stainless steel and are TIG welded to give a pressure tight housing for the sensor. Many thread types, metric and imperial probe diameters are available from 3mm upwards. These are generally BSP, BSPT or NPT types but we can supply others to your requirements such as Metric, UNF etc.

Most of the our terminal heads have IP ratings of IP67 or IP68, and we can fit a number of options inside the terminal heads that best fit your requirements. The simplest is a terminal block allowing you to connect directly to the sensor.

Alternatively, we can supply temperature transmitters with either a 4-20mA or a 0-10V output. Other options include intrinsically safe transmitters or those with HART protocol. We can also fit in head displays if required. The PPL5-P is ideal for direct installation into your process or for use with our PPL51-TW pocket.
