Ovasense Neo Hand-held Temperature Measuring Sensor with Bluetooth Connection

The Ovasense Neo is a thermometer featuring a probe for contact-based measurements, allowing direct connection to the Ovaport web service.

The Pt100 temperature sensor serves as a thermometer equipped with an 80 mm long, 2 mm diameter stainless-steel probe that sports a sharp needle tip. Its purpose is to measure the internal temperature of soft, penetrable products, particularly food items.

Nokeval’s Ovasense Neo series measuring instruments are Bluetooth low energy-compatible devices designed for seamless integration with the Nokeval Ova mobile application and the Ovaport service.

Environmental Conditions

The device is designed to operate under specific environmental conditions. Storage conditions range from -40 to +60°C with relative air humidity between 5% and 95%, without condensation. Operating conditions extend from -20 to +45°C, with relative air humidity ranging from 0% to 100%. It carries an IP65 protection class.

Dimensions and Weight

The device is lightweight, weighing approximately 65g, with external dimensions measuring 224 x 28 x 23 mm.

Measurement Method

The measurement is carried out using an 80 mm x 2 mm stainless steel rod equipped with a Pt100 sensor element at the tip. The measuring range spans from -200 to +600°C, with practical use recommended between -50 and +200°C.

Accuracy varies, with ±0.5°C within the range of -30 to +100°C, provided that the temperature of the measuring device falls between +5 and +45°C and remains stable. For the range of -40 to +120°C under the same device temperature conditions, the accuracy is ±1°C.

Power Source

The device is powered by a 1.5 V LR03 (AAA) alkaline battery, specifically a “heavy-duty” type, which is not user-replaceable. A typical battery life is approximately one year under normal use. Normal use is defined as a maximum of 40 measurements per day, with each measurement lasting 30 seconds.

Wireless Capability

The device employs Bluetooth® Low Energy, version 4.1, with an internal chip antenna. It is compatible with the Ova® mobile app and the Fredman Pro mobile app.

The device adheres to various standards, including EN 61326, ETSI EN 300 328, and ETSI EN 301 489.
