RTD Sensor – Pt100 Temperature Sensor with Terminal Head
The Plain Stem Probe below Terminal Head is a type of industrial RTD temperature sensor. It uses a platinum resistance thermometer (Pt100 or Pt1000) to measure temperature. The RTD sensor is protected by a terminal head made of aluminium, stainless steel, nylon, or ABS, offering high resistance to environmental factors.
It can be fitted with different types of heads, such as a block, transmitter, or tails. The sensor can be battery-powered or loop-powered and is suitable for sliding compression fittings or pockets. The Pt100 temperature sensor has an operating range of -50 to +250°C (unless specified otherwise).
The RTD sensor is supplied as standard as a Class B 3 wire measurement system and with the accuracy at 0°C the accuracy is +/-0.3°C. However, if specified, the tolerance band can also be Class A, 1/3 DIN, 1/5 DIN, or 1/10 DIN, and it can be wired with 2, 3, or 4 wires using a simplex or duplex system.
Easily mount this Pt100 temperature sensor in ducting, pipework or tanks and vessels using a suitable mounting such as a compression fitting or thermopocket.
The TIG welded plain 6mm diameter stem of the probe is fabricated from 316 stainless steel for durability and is pressure tight. The fitting into the terminal housing is also welded rather than a compression fitting. This design is far more suitable for applications in the food industry where cleanliness is necessary or where vibration is present as it’s a far more robust method of mounting the head.
The KNE terminal head is made from aluminium alloy and has a silver-painted finish. It has an ingress protection rating of IP68. The cable entry is M20x1.5mm and is supplied with a cable gland. Inside the terminal head, we fit a ceramic terminal block making it easy for you to connect your extension cable. The lid of the terminal head screws on and is retained by a stainless steel chain.
