The Optris CTi 3M is a compact but rugged industrial pyrometer with a programmable electronic box for applications specifically sensitive to short-wavelength infrared. Designed for the non-contact temperature measurement of metals from low to very high temperatures from 30°C up to 1850°C depending on the version chosen.

Optris CTi 3M Pyrometer for Low Temperature Measurements of Metal

With its short measuring wavelength of 2.3 μm and a temperature range from 30 °C up to 1850 °C, the Optris CTi 3M pyrometer, is ideal for low-temperature measurements of metals, secondary metal processing, metal oxides and ceramic materials. The very fast response time of only 320µs allows for problem-free use of the metal thermometer where fast processes are required.

The infrared temperature sensor has a very small sensing head of 14mm in diameter and 28mm in length. This allows the sensor to be installed in applications where space is at a premium. The temperature sensor is also usable up to 85 °C ambient temperature without cooling. The separate electronics enclosure provides a full range of outputs and inputs as standard including Voltage, mA and Thermocouple.

The Optris CTi 3M offers high variability with selectable analogue outputs and multiple digital interfaces. It features field-selectable analogue output options, including 0/4-20mA, 0-5 and 0-10 V, type K or J thermocouples, and an alarm. The programmable functional input allows users to set external emissivity, ambient temperature compensation, and reset hold functions. Additionally, it includes peak hold, valley hold, average, and an extended hold function with threshold and hysteresis. The built in USB interface allows convenient PC configuration and measurement and data logging functionality without additional hardware.

For added convenience, the Optris CTi 3M provides various plug-in options, including RS485, RS232 interface, 2 optically isolated relay outputs, Profinet, and Ethernet. With its advanced features and functionalities, this temperature sensor is an excellent tool for professionals in various industries, providing accurate and reliable measurements for temperature-sensitive applications.

Optris CTi 3M Additional Information & Software

The Optris CT 3M is easily configurable using the optional USB interface and license-free Compact Connect software to configure the sensor by PC and record temperature measurements instead of traditional analogue or thermocouple outputs. The infrared temperature sensor and pyrometers from Optris can now also be easily operated from a smartphone using the IRmobile App for Android.

Calibration, and a full range of accessories, are available for the Optris infrared pyrometers and thermal imagers.
