Our PPL5-T temperature sensor has a fixed male process connection ideal for direct installation into your process. The addition of a lagging extension allows the terminal head to sit above any lagging that may be fitted to the process. Alternatively it can be specified as a cooling neck to provide protection to any electronics inside the terminal housing when used in applications with elevated temperatures. The sensor is suitable for the measurement of liquids and gases across a wide temperature range. All sensors are made to order so it is generally possible to meet all of your requirements.
All wetted parts of the probe are normally made from 316 stainless steel are are TIG welded to give a pressure tight housing for the sensor. Many metric and imperial probe diameters are available from 3mm upwards. Many thread types are available. They are generally BSP, BSPT or NPT types but we can supply others to your requirements such as Metric, UNF etc.
We stock a variety of terminal heads that cover all eventualities. The most popular is the aluminium alloy KNE head that is commonly used in the industry. We do however also offer other materials such as ABS, Nylon, FDA approved Polypropylene and of course 316 stainless steel for the most demanding applications. Most of the our terminal heads have IP ratings of IP67 or IP68.
We can fit a number of options inside the terminal heads that best fit your requirements. The simplest is a terminal block allowing you to connect directly to the sensor. Alternatively we can supply temperature transmitters with either a 4-20mA or a 0-10V output. Other options include intrisically safe transmitters or those with HART protocol. We can also fit in head displays if required.
The PPL5-T is ideal for direct installation into your process or for use with our PPL51-TW pocket. The PPL5 is also available as a Resistance Thermometer sensor. We are also able to supply the probe with your choice of thermistor sensor.
